Water

The Andes run along the Pacific coast of South America.

The mountain range has many water sources, such as glacier-fed lakes. Some specific lakes are Argentino, Buenos Aires, and Llanquihue, which are on the eastern flanks, along with many islands and fjords on the western flank.

Lake Titicaca is the largest South American lake, and is also the highest large body of water in the world. It lies on top of the altiplano.
