The language of the Inca is called Quechua. Sadly, the Inca did not have a written language.Messages were sent by runners who relayed messages along the narrow sometimes paved roads. Smoke signals were also set up at strategic places to receive signals and communicate to other cities.
The knowledge of the Inca people was considerable given their location and time period. Inca people studied stars and planets to predict the seasons of the year. The Inca also developed mathematical calculations and designed complicated buildings, roads, and terraced fields.
Records were kept by officials and were recorded by using quipuca cords. Each knot that was a specific color represented how many sheep or llamas you had. The knots varied in size and color intervals, making them into designated numbers.
Children would learn by listening and watching what their parents' did. The important or wealthy children went to schools held by their parents advisors or schools in Cuzco.
