Welcome to South America!  South America is the fourth largest continent in area.  It has nearly every type of landscape and climate.  The world's largest tropical rainforest grows in the Amazon River Basin which makes up about 2/5 of the continent.  The Atacama Desert in northern Chile is one of the driest places in the world.  Snowy mountain peaks and active volcanoes are part of the Andes Mountains in western South America.  South America is a unique continent with unique animals!
