You effect the stock market every day  when you buy things like food, toys, etc.   For example, if Game Boys become popular amongst people, the stock price of Nintendo will go up.  If nobody buys Game Boy the stock price of Nintendo will go down.   This is just one example of how you effect the stock market.  When you go to the super market, the stock market is affected when you buy things.
