Wyflag.gif (1209 bytes)    Wyoming entered the Union on July 10, 1890 as state number 44.   Wyoming is called the Equality state and the Cowboy State. Wyoming is the tenth largest state with an area of 97,818 square miles.  Wyoming has hot short summers and cold long winters.  Before the Europeans came there were four different Indian tribes they were the Shoshone, Crow, Cheyenne, and the Arapaho.
