    Newjersy.gif (467 bytes)  New Jersey entered the Union on December 13, 1787.  It was the third state.  George Washington crossed the Delaware River to defeat the British at Trenton.  In the mid-19th century manufacturing became the leading industry.  Former president Grover Cleveland was born there.

New Jersey has many Revolutionary war historical sites.  Made a map showing where these sites are located in New Jersey.
