Around the Track and Back

Sprints are an important part of track and field meets. If you want to win a state track meet all you need are about four good sprinters and you can forget about the rest of the activities. But I encourage you to compete with good athletes in other activities.

Coaching:

The first thing a coach wants to remember is never to push their trainees so far they will break down. Some coaches push too far and the trainees track career can be over before it starts.

Coaching Tips:

Train hard!

Find trainees' weaknesses

Find endurance

Don't push your trainees too hard.

Take it one step at a time

Always give your trainees encouraging remarks
