Around the Track and Back

Walking (We put it here because it didn't fit anywhere else)

The walking events are usually held for distances ranging from 1500 to 50,000 m (from 0.9 to 31 mi) and are especially popular at meets in the United States. In race walking, the heel of the forward foot must touch the track before the toe of the trailing foot leaves the ground. The rule is designed to prevent the contestants from running.
