Here's the basic rule: Avoid STICKY , CHEWY, GOOEY or HARD foods. Do you ever wonder why you can't eat the foods you like? Well, here's the answer. You shouldn't have these foods because they could pull off, bend, damage or break your braces. If this happens, the braces have to be repaired. That's expensive and you'll have to have your braces on longer. You don't want that, do you? *hard foods like:
ice, apples, raw carrots, hard candy like Jolly Ranchers,
*chewy foods like:
Bagels, Pizza Crust, Tough Meats, Chicken, Salami,
Foods that have to be chewed very well should be cut into small pieces. * foods with a hard center like: ribs, peaches *sticky foods
like: gum, taffy and caramel
*high sugar foods: soda and
candy
Rinse your mouth with water after
sugary foods PENCILS, PENS, FINGER NAILS, SCOTCH TAPE, WATER BOTTLES, SODA CAPS, JACKET TIES, ETC.,ETC.,ETC. DON'T OPEN OR RIP ANYTHING WITH YOUR TEETH |
