Elastics (rubberbands) will be very important to your treatment. They provide the "pull" needed to move the teeth quickly and in the right direction. Here are a few pointers which will help you get the most out of wearing them:
Make sure you can attach them as directed. A mirror may be necessary at first, but soon you will be able to change them quickly and with little effort.
For the first few days, the teeth may become occasionally sore. This is a sign of movement, so do not let this discourage you. As the teeth become used to this pressure, the soreness will lessen.
Change the elastics once per day. A fresh rubberband is more effective than an old one.
Elastics should be worn 24 hours per day, everyday, except for during brushing
Your full cooperation is very important. If there are any questions, please let us know.
