| You can choose colors for practically
everything. The ties around the brackets come in different colors.
Rubberbands or elastics can be very colorful. The rubberbands that
attach a few brackets together are called powerchains. They come
in different colors like blue, black, white and gray. You can choose
a different color at each appointment with the orthodontist. The
plastic part of retainers and appliances can come in many designs.
Some orthodontists have colorful archwires too.
Most kids pick the colors which
represent the upcoming holidays. For example, in March you might
pick green for St. Patrick's Day or light colors in April for Easter.
You might have your own opinion and I respect that. I have mine.
I have only had a few colors on my brackets. I have not had rubber
bands yet. I've had one white power chain and one medium blue one.
My favorite bracket color so far is purple but I have many more to try
over the next two years. Every month my friends want to see which
color I've chosen. Sometimes they scold me and I don't like that.
My orthodontist said that when teachers have braces they usually ask for
rainbow colors on their brackets to show off their braces to their class.
Teachers have all the luck!
Please write to our guestbook
to give us your opinion about the choices we have and don't have about
colors and braces and well, just everything.
