| "After I finished brushing my teeth with some special
polishing paste, Dr. Echols and his assistant talk to me about what they're
going to do. They assure me that there are no needles and no shots
needed, but I'm wondering what he is going to do with that water squirter
in his hand?" |
|
| "They fit a couple of braces on my back teeth first.
So far. so good." |
|
| "Now we get serious! Lip stretchers keep my tongue
and lips from getting all over the teeth while the front braces are placed.
They don't look too cool, but they are comfortable and I don't have to
worry about keeping my mouth open all the time. I think I'll just
snooze a little." |
|
| "Yikes! Kathy just put a vacuum cleaner in my mouth.
Seems I was drooling a little and my teeth needed to be rinsed off.
No big deal. Back to the nap." |
|
| "Mom comes back to check on me and see how I'm doing.
Kathy is now using a blow cryer gadget on my teeth to dry them off after
putting a conditioner on the enamel." |
|
| "Now, this is way cool. They are using a weird
purple light to make the glue for the braces set up. Seems the stuff
won't start to set up until the special light is turned on the glue.
They are almost ready to put the tin on the grin." |
|
| "An hour later, the braces are glued on the teeth.
These things are scratchy without wires. At least my lips went back
to normal. Now for some wires and those colors I've heard about.
Wonder what would look best for my first day in braces? Blue or pink?
Maybe both!" |
|
| "The wires are in and it's time for lunch. I can't
wait to show my friends. Awesome! Now what about lunch?" |
