Pluto

Pluto means cold and dark.
Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun.
Pluto is the smallest planet.
Percival Lowell started an observatory in Arizona in 1894 and spent most of his life looking for this planet. After Lowell died Clyde W. Tombaugh started working on the same project and using the same telescope.Clyde W. Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930.
Venetia Burney, an 11 year old girl, named Pluto after a Greek and Roman god of the dead.
Some scientists think that Pluto was once a moon of Neptune's that escaped in orbit around Neptune and became its own planet.
Every 248 years it is known that Neptune is farther out in orbit from the sun than Pluto.
Pluto has only one moon and the name of the moon is called Charon.
Charon was discovered by James W. Christy in 1978.
Pluto is smaller than our moon.
