Mini Mysteries
The Case Of the One Million Dollars
Since Rogers has a high violence record, Officer Simmons was often asked to help patrol other towns.  Late one night Officer Simmons got a phone call about a brutal beating and robbery.  The next morning Simmons hurried to the Blair's house.  When he got there Mr. Blair started explaining what had happened.  He said he and his wife had gone out to a fancy restaurant.  Mrs. Blair did not want to take a chance on her purse getting stolen, so she left it at home with her son Anthony.  That night, three robbers broke into the house that Anthony was in.  Anthony was forced to give the money in the purse to the men.  When his parents came home they found him beaten on the floor, with the purse ten feet away.  Officer Simmons scanned the house for clues and fingerprints.  The fingerprints he found did not match any of the three suspects because they had no criminal records.   The suspects were found going to California.  They were questioned but found innocent.
Within one year, the robbers came back to Rogers and instead of robbing houses they robbed public areas.  In the last month they robbed two super centers and one motel.  This time the three main suspects were found guilty.  And convicted on the charges and sentenced to life prison without parole. In addition, they had to pay a $500,000 fine.  With more evidence from the police they were found guilty of robbing the Blair's.

How did the police figure out case?
