Pegasus' Paradise

Villians

Medusa
Medusa
Medusa, one of the three Gorgons, was a Greek villain who had snakes as hair. People believed that if you looked into Medusa's eyes you would turn into stone. Medusa had the body of a serpent, the head of a human and snakes as hair. The story of Medusa is an interesting one. Medusa was a beautiful young women who was desired by the sea-god, Poseidon. One day Poseidon tried to get her attention in a temple. The temple god Athena was very angry with this. Athena wanted to make sure this would never happen again. So Athena turned Medusa into a hideous beast.
Hades
Hades is the son of Cronus and brother of Zeus and Poseidon. Cronus was jealous that Hades and Poseidon would get more powerful than himself, so Cronus swallowed Hades and Poseidon. Zeus's mother saved Zeus. (See under gods for Zeus) Zeus killed Cronus, saved his brothers and then each brother took control of a part of the universe. Hades became the god of the underworld. Hades rarely left the underworld, but if he did, he would wear a helmet that would make him be invisible. One day Hades left his world to pursue Persephone. Persephone went to pick flowers. Hades captured her and took her to the underworld. She remained in the underworld for four months before she was rescued. Another time Hades fell in love with a nymph named Minthe. Persephone was so angry she stomped all over Minthe. Hades was so upset abot the death of Minthe that he changed her into a sweet smelling mint plant. Hades had very few worshipers and only had a couple temples in his honor. Hades was the Greek god of terror and ghastly death.
Ares
Ares, one of Zeus's sons, is the god of war and he was very brutal and bloody. Even Zeus admitted he hated Areas for his violence and aggression. Athene was the goddess of war and was a half sister to Ares. Athene thought Ares' behavior was just disgraceful. Ares wasn't the most successful warrior. He was also thought of as a coward and sometimes a clumsy fighter. Troy, son of Ares, killed his father, not in a battle, but with his own cleverness.

cyclops

Cyclops

Cyclops were enormous giants who often helped Zeus and would eat people. They had one huge eye in the middle of their forehead. Some people believed that cyclops' ghosts lived in the caverns of the volcano, Mount Etna, in Sicily. When fire and smoke came out of the volcano, people thought that meant the cyclops were working. They were making lighting bolts for Zeus and Hades' invisible helmet.
