Boston Tea Party
In May 1773 Parliament passed a law making the tea so low that even with the tax it was far cheaper then the tea colonists had been buying from the Netherlands. Parliament's reason for doing this was to tempt the colonists into buying more tea. Parliament was wrong. In each colony there were protests. On the night of December 16, 1773, some colonists dressed up like Indians and dumped 300 chests of British tea into the Boston Harbor. This was called The Boston Tea Party.
