COUNIL
A: How many members are in student council at
Garrett? We have one representative
from each classroom, and an alternate from each
room. Altogether we 23 representatives. If you include
alternates you have 41 student council members. B:
What is student council? Student council is a student
government,in our school. We hold meetings twice a
month. We elect members in the fifth and six grades to
be president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary.
C: How does our council work? We meet in a reserved
area for the afternoon. This is the way our agenda is
set up. The president calls the meeting to order. We
say the pledge. The secretary calls the roll. The
secretary gives his or her report. The treasurer gives
his or her report. The president asks if there are any
other reports. If not we carry on with the
meeting.Then we go to new business. We cover all the
new business. Then we go to unfinished business.
When we get done with that we go on to announcements from any member. If there are we carry on a
conversation, if not we adjourn the meeting.
