The Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln memorial is located in Washington DC. It was built in memory of Abraham Lincoln. The structure of it looks very similar to a temple in Greece. The building began in 1914, about half a century after Lincoln's death. You can see the memorial any time of the year, it's on the back of a penny and a 5 dollar bill. The structure has 36 columns to represent the 36 states in the union when Lincoln died. This represents democracy because it reminds us of Abraham Lincoln.
