The Canyon Dancers Web Team is a group of six fifth-grade students from San Diego, California. Aaron, Lindsay and Martina attend Canyon View Elementary School. Kyle, Raphael and Vanessa attend Sundance Elementary School. Both schools are in the Poway Unified School District. Their coach, Mrs. Gleed, is the computer specialist at both schools.
As typical fifth-grade students, the team members enjoy such things as playing Nintendo, playing with their pets, reading, traveling, and participating in lots of sports. The sports include baseball, basketball, swimming, ice skating, soccer and golf. Several members are on the Safety Patrol at their school. They also study hard, are good students and are happy to share their knowledge with others.
This is our first Internet project. We wanted to make it a fun and useful site for elementary-age students, but also for everyone to enjoy and use. We chose the name Canyon Dancers as a combination of our schools' names and because our Web site has to do with earth movement. We have learned a lot about our restless Earth, the Internet, teamwork and creating a Web site. You can see a complete listing of the resources we used to create our Web site.
