Always look at what you draw rather than draw from memory.
Don't worry about mistakes - they are part of the fun of drawing (besides, everyone makes mistakes.)
Try holding your tool in different ways, and practice drawing different lines and shapes.
Overlapping can show depth (distance).
Remember size helps too!
