The night of April 18th to the 19th in 1775, Gage sent a company of soldiers to seize military supplies. But very quickly word traveled around and Paul Revere hurried to spread warnings! When he was taken by the British at Lexington, another messenger, continued to Concord for him! The Red Coats were attacked at Lexington but got through to Concord and began to destroy supplies. They were attacked later once again at Lexington and had to retreat!

"Red coats" were the British soldiers.
They were called that because their coats were very red.
