Lord Cornwallis's entire name was Charles Cornwallis. He was ordered to destroy Washington's forces! He was actually looking forward to this because he thought that this would not be very hard to do! But Washington outwitted him by quietly surrounding him and his troops in the middle of the night. Washington then attacked Cornwallis in the morning and won this battle! This battle took place at Princton! In the end, Cornwallis was defeated at the Battle of Yorktown when Washington had him surrounded on the coastline and a French Fleet held off a British fleet which was there to rescue him.
