The burning of coal releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
 
 Global warming is caused by a lot of things, such as the burning of coal and the burning of the rain forest and many other stuff. Sense global warming is caused by different things, I'll tell you them one by one.
 
Certain gases in the atmosphere --known as the greenhouse gases tend to trap the sun's heat. Some important greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide are building up in the atmosphere.
 
The burning of coal is one thing that causes global warming. The burning of coal releases Carbon dioxide  into the air and increases the earths temperature. If they continue to release the deadly fumes into the atmosphere a hole open in the it.

Sometimes global warming is natural. The ocean releases carbon dioxide into the air to raises the temperature. During the winter it releases less and less carbon dioxide into the air, thereby lowering the temperature.
 
When people chop down the rain forest trees( which holds heat in ) heat escapes the rain forest and comes up to where we live. Which in turn heats up our place and cools down there place.
