Essential Elements of Web Documents

 Pages buried deep within web sites are often accessed
 directly, and must act as independent pages that explain
 their authorship, provenance, rights, limitations, & age.
 The device-independent nature of web sites, where the
 designer is never sure what type of internet  viewing software
 is being used.  (MSN, Netscape, and others) That requires that the
 designer meet the least basic standards of internet formatting and
 structure to insure the visual and usability of internet documents.
