History

Battle Creek International Balloon Championship - a eight-day festival of hot air balloons. Children's day is held in the middle of this festival and kids get to meet Tony the Tiger, Ronald McDonald and McGruff as well as enjoy special entertainment and games. Held in July at the W. K. Kellogg Airport. 616-962-1592.

Museums of Battle Creek - a complete listing of the Battle Creek area museums including; Kingman Museum of Natural History, the Art Center of Battle Creek, the Kimball House Historical Museum, and the Underground Railroad Sculpture.

 

 

Full Blast Entertainment Mall - a total entertainment mall that includes an indoor water park, an outdoor water park, a gym, lazer tag, indoor playground, an Internet cafe, food court, video arcade, an outdoor skate park and a student lounge area with table/chairs and tw0 35-inch TV's.

Binder Park Zoo - a small zoo with large, natural settings for the exotic animals. Animals can be feed and petted at the Miller Children's Zoo. There is also a 15 minute train ride that takes visitors in the woods. Located at 7400 Division Drive, Battle Creek. 616-979-1351. Open mid-April to mid-October daily.

Kellogg Bird Sanctuary - Located half way between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo this bird sanctuary was started as a refuge to Canadian geese by W. K. Kellogg. Now it's an experimental facility of Michigan State University. Geese, ducks, swans, song birds and squirrels among other species of birds and animals inhabit the area. Open year-round, daily. 12685 East C Avenue, Augusta. 616-671-2510.
