Ann Arbor Art Fair - held
in the third week of July, Wed. - Sat.. There's art, food and
entertainment plus booths for children to make their own art.
University of Michigan - founded in Detroit in1817, it's main campus has been in Ann Arbor since 1837. U. of M. is a leading American research institution. The university has three of the state's finest museums, listed below. The "Wolverines" are in the Big Ten Conference for sports.
Barbara Shutz-Gruber - is an award winning storyteller who can visit your school. She tells tales from around the world, Michigan, and the Great Lakes. She also tells ghost stories and medieval legends. 313-761-5118.
Domino's Farms - Domino's Pizza Headquarters building has a petting farm that involves the children in an educational show about animals. You can order pizza from the farm phone and eat it at picnic tables and take a hay ride to see the buffalo herd. Earhart Road just east of US 23, Ann Arbor. 313-930-5032

Ann Arbor Hands-On
Museum - four floors of over 250 science exhibits to
touch and explore. The first floor has a preschool giant tent,
the Discovery Room is on the second floor, the third floor has
the light gallery and the fourth floor has computers and games.
Located at Huron and N. Fifth, across from City Hall. Open 7

Kelsey Museum of Archeology - collections of Greek, Egyptian, Roman and Near Eastern artifacts including mummies. On family days on certain Saturdays throughout the year kids can prepare a doll for mummification and burial, go on mock dig, create jewelry and have their faces painted. 434 S. Museum of Art - one of the top ten United States university art museums. During the summer kids can create their own art at the hands-on arts and crafts activities table. 525 State Street, Ann Arbor. Closed Mondays. Call 313-764-0395.
U of M Exhibit Museum - a natural science museum - it has a dinosaur section on the second floor with complete dinosaur skeletons. The most impressive is the big allosaurus. You can go up to the third floor and look out over the backs of these prehistoric creatures. 1109 Geddes Avenue, Ann Arbor. 313-764-0478
Planetarium - located on the fourth floor of the U of M Exhibit museum. Weekend planetarium shows change several times a year and run every half hour from 10:30 to 3:30 on Saturdays and 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 on Sundays.
