Dear Louie, Aaron, Ami and Jessica, I just read your web page from start to finish. How many hours did it take you to do so much work? You had a lot of important information. Your colors and link design added a lot. Your animations were fantastic. You can be proud of yourselves for the quality of work you submitted. Linda Specie, Westran Elementary Principal

I have never heard of a blue mouse. Where did you find information on that? Also, are you sure that a mouse won't jump off of a table? That is great information to know. I live in the country and this time of year it seems that the mice come in. I found that glue paper is awful because then you have to step on them yourself to kill them. There is no way to get them off alive, like you would want to!!! Anyway, any suggestions at to the best mousetrap and bait? Great page! I sure hope you win.

I have two male mice named Alexander and Willy. Willy is the younger of the two. Also, I bought him about six months after I bought Alexander. I don't know if any of this information is pertinent to my question, which is this: how do you keep a male mouse from mounting another male mouse? Willy has been "harrasing" Alexander for about a month now and I don't know what to do about it. Alexander's only recourse is to start run- ning on the wheel so that Willy can't mount him.

We live in Northern Colorado at 7200 feet elevation. This morning we caught what looks like a very large mouse. It is NOT a rat as it has all the features of a mouse but has a body about seven inches, not including tail. It was grey just like a "standard" house mouse with a tail about as long as its body. What kind of mouse might it be and where can I find more information on it?

The gestation period for a mouse usually lasts 18 to 24 days. You usually cannot tell that a mouse is pregnant until about 15 days into the pregnancy. Good Luck!!

ps-- be sure to separate the babies by sex at the ages of 21 to 25 days, unless you are ready for MORE!! =)

I recently purchased two male mice. One was extremely aggressive and attacked the other. I separated them and returned the aggressive one. I then noticed that he had been attacked previously due to two scabs on his back. His injuries have begun to heal, but he's still very nervous. I purchased a second mouse who is not aggressive last night. There was no fighting and they did some sniffing, but nothing really happened. The newer mouse since last night refuses to come down from the "loft" in their "mini condo." I could tell that the first mouse was no longer threatened and was more active than ever before. He ran on his wheel for an hour. Neither one is happy with me handling them and the new mouse seems tramatized by the handling. Both mice are young according to the store. My question is if these mice will bond after they are used to their surroundings and will they eventually become used to being handled by me. If so, how long does this process normally take. Also, what is the average lifespan of mice? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I just want Sabastian and Shakespeare to be the happiest that they can be!

I found a mouse at the Cenex gas station. The mouse was still alive but was frozen. I took the mouse to school for part of the day, and had to call my grandma to pick him up. But I have been trying to find out what mouse it is, so I can place it into a environment close to the surroundings he would be familiar with. So my question is, can you tell me what kind of mouse it is or tell me were to find out what kind of mouse it is. The mouse is a dark gray to a black color, white underneath. His ears are small and close to his head, his tail is very small, about half an inch to a inch and is partly covered with fur. The mouse is small, about three to four inches long and is chubby. So far he likes to dig and hide under the pine bedding. And he really does not seem interested in the hampster/gerbil mix, but does apparently like the corn and those colored treats. I would be grateful if anyone can help me. My email address is Tazz 93@hotmail.com

HI, Today after school, I came back to my room. In the cage, the mouse seemed dead. It later came back to life after wrapping it in a blanket and making it warm ( its skin was cold.)Was this a form of hibernation because of the temp. of the room? Or was it just something he ate?

For heaven's sake, your information is being used to cause a scare among people who don't know a mouse from a shrew, a deer mouse from a pacific jumping mouse.

This is the kind of misinformation that has led to slaughters of entire poulations, needlessly, badgers, even buffalo, even Native Americans, and Australian aboriginals.

When it comes to inflaming people to hysteria - GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT, or keep quiet about it.

I found your page printed and posted where the hantavirus carrying mice are not native. It was suggested we have a wholsale slaughter of all mice. We could use chemicals you know, forget the hawks, eagles, coyotes, even cats who would control the populations for us.

Please QUIT! Your fear spreads faster than any virus.

I recently opened up a gas grill that had been stored for the winter and found 6 small field mice (so I think), I live in the country,so I decided to place them in the nest under a tree.

Later that night I found another mouse in my car, it probably fell out of the gas grill when it was being transported. The mouse is about 1 inch long has a white belly, big ears, and a grey coat.

Is this a field mouse?? And it is now living in a glass home, in my home and I have been feeding it. Is it possible to raise this mouse as a pet?? Thanks ..... DLAP60@aol.com

If because of infestation you must rid your home of a mouse/mice this gives no one the right to take their lives. There are such a thing as the humane traps that catch them just as well as the sick torture devices, and you can release them somewhere else, (a field on your way to work). Please be considerate that these are living animals just like your pet dog or cat. Just because they may not be your ideal please at least respect them on that basis.

We just found a baby field mouse in a sack of concrete. What is the best way for us to take care of it at this point? We have tried feeding it some milk through a syringe and put some crackers in with it. We have it covered up with some of the paper that the mother had shreded up over it. We think the mother is far away as we had this bag on our trailer at a job site and came home with it this weekend! Anyway, our daughter wants to keep it as a pet, is this a good idea? I do have concerns about diseases, but it is still a baby as it doesn't have its eyes opened yet. Any suggestions about taking care of it from this point is most helpful! Thank you

I would be very happy to get an answer here. My cat, being the hunter she is, caught 2 baby kangarro rats after she had already killed their mother. One(whom I called Houdini) died after only a couple days, but Stumpy, the survivor is alive and well, and no longer nursing. I am quite aware that they are endangered species, and that one is not supposed to keep them, but if I let her go she would die. She has no fear of cats or humans. So here is my question, can Kangarro rats get along with regular mice? She seems lonely sometimes, and I would like to get her a friend, but i don't know where to go about getting another kangaroo rat. Does anyone know if that would work?? thanx for the help, yoko

Dear fellow people, I have pet mice I take care of. They were born in the summer of 98. Recently the father mouse has gotten sick and past away...presumably of old age....BUT...his offspring have also gotten sick and one has already died!! Is this normal for a mouse to die of such young age? It did not reach a year of life yet. Now another mice is showing signs of sickness. The first stage of sickness is that a red color starts to appear around its eye, then it starts to swell and shut. Later on both of its eyes start to shut, the mouse develops some hives on its back and sheds a little fur, then they start to breath very fast and they become less playfull and look like they are withering away...until death. I would like to know how what kind of sickness is this and how can I cure my mice from dying. What kind of medicince can I put on my mouse's eye so it will open up again? Most thanks for anyone who responds! Mark

I kept mice for a seven year period when I was a kid and enjoyed the experience fondly.

My ten year old son now has had mice for about one year and is keen to breed them. Presently he has one male manx mouse about five months old in a cage with three female mice of varying ages and sizes (a one year old, a six month old and a three month old). The male is only interested in mating with the oldest mouse who also happens to be twice his size, she however is somewhat resistent. He has not expressed any interest in the other females and the best way to describe their relationship is platonic. I study into the early hours of the morning and have had the benefit of observing them! (no fights) The youngest female was purchased with a view that her smaller stature may assist with this problem. When I had mice many years ago there was never any difficulty with breeding, please advise, do I need to separate them, buy a new male or give him steroids?

I am just about to get a mouse (or two), but I have a cat also (who is very fond of the odd mouse tidbit). Any hints? Should I just keep them in a place with a shut door?? Thanks

p.s. getting rid of the cat is not an option!

I recently found a baby mouse in a old abandoned house, (hey, that rhymes!!) Anyway I have had it for a week, I am feeding it on a very very tiny dropper, of evaporated mild and water, I guess it is about two weeks old now? I have tried to feed it bread and cheese, also cookie crumbs, but it won't give up the dropper of milk, Is this good for him? He should be ready to wean now right? any suggestions would be of great help... Doris Dixon dixon1@mindspring.com

We have 2 girl fancy mice they were introduced about 4 days apart and they both have balding spots on their hind quarters. One has one on the left side and the other on its right. They are approx. 4-6 weeks old. Both have formed a scab I have cleaned with warm water and hydrogen peroxide and neosporian...not sure if I spelled that right but I hope you know what I mean. The one keeps messing with it and I don't want to hurt her...but how often should I clean it? Should I let a scab form? Should I keep letting them run on the wheel? They both still eat and play ok and when I cleaned the wound she didn't squeek or give me a sign that I was hurting her but I know it must hurt or itch her...other wise why would she continue to mess with it? They play well with each other and I have never really seen them fight...it seems like they take care of each other and have slept side by side from day 1. I am not 100% sure it is a bite but I took them back to the pet store and that is what they feel it was.

I just want to do what is best for them but don't know where to go for all the information I need.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide me with

Joy

I have had two female mice for a year and a half. They get along fine, but over the past month have taken to chewing holes in one anothers fur. They lay there passivly while the other one does it - sort of like grooming gone too far. I use pine shavings and have treated them for mites (just in case). I clean their cage weekly and feed them a pellet diet. I have been using Neosporin on their wounds, but would like to figure out the cause of this bizarre behavior and prevent it. Please help!

We have mice living between our walls and they are driving me crazy! We are not sure how they are getting in, but I'm wondering if it is possible that they are climbing up the drain pipes onto the roof and then coming in at the soffit.

We have seen evidence of them in the attic (droppings) so we know they're somehow getting into the attic. We have a large field across the street from our home so I'm sure there are several looking for a nice warm place for the winter.

Any suggestions on how we can solve this problem?

The Smart Mouse Trap Catches Mice That Other Traps Can't

Offers a solution to the growing number of people troubled with killing animals yet in need of quick and and effective rodent control.

Teaches a peaceful solution to a pesky problem.

Re-usable. Includes instructions on trapping and on mouseproofing homes to prevent unwanted guests from returning.

Humane trap gives mouse a second chance. A great alternative to poison or cruel glue and snap traps. Mice readily enter the open door seeking peanut butter which you have dabbed on a cracker. Trap senses weight of even the smallest mouse and spring door snaps shut.

Take the mouse to a wooded or brushy area and open the "Freedom" door. Escape is delayed until the mouse chews through the cracker. This delay avoids contact between the mouse and the trap user and gives the mouse "one for the road". Measures 3" x 7" x 2.5". Endorsed by humane societies and animal rights organizations in the U.S. and worldwide.

I have caught about 10 mice with this trap--just 2 days ago caught 3 within 1/2 hour each time of setting the trap. Be sure to check the trap often after setting it! Also sold by Sunrise Lane, 780 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10014, (212) 242-7014

I have recently become the new "mommy" to 5 beautiful critters. However, one month after they moved into their new home, two of the mice died! They seemed fine the eve before?! Recently, one mouse that I've named "Bob" turned out to be pregnant! (very exciting). I put a straw hut in with her and bought her another cage. I checked on the babies last night and all was well with the two that I peeked at. This morning, I checked again and the mice were blue. Devestated, I removed the mommy from the cage and saw that deep down in the bedding, 4 more were dead. What did I do wrong? Does anyone know what could of happened? Also, I removed all the babies and returned the mother back to the other cage with the other mice. HELP--I want them to have babies. Malika

Dear DwarfRabbits4u@yahoo.com Males don't necessarily "smell" themselves. The odor that you smell comes from their urine. To decrease any unwelcome odor, get a good brand of odor-absorbent bedding (NOT pine or cedar, for they are poisoness to the little guys and girls) I recommend "carefresh bedding", it's soft and healthy for them. Make sure you change your mice's cage at least once a week. They don't like the smell either. Also, ripped newspaper is a favorite for them to make their own nests to keep warm in. Good luck with the little guys.

01/30/00: We have just acquired a little brown mouse as of this mornig. It's cute and small, but I'm worried that it may carry diseases. Does anyone know how dangerous they are in that respect and is there anything we can do to make them not be disease ridden? Also, although it's a small mouse, it has a long tail. Is the length of it's tail how long it will eventually grow to be? Please e-mail your answers to jenricnic@cs.com. Thanks.

MICE HAVE A STRONG SENSE OF SMELL!!! That's how they find their food. You see, mice have very poor eyesight, so they rely on their whiskers to feel and their powerful noses to smell their surroundings. In fact, anything too potent is smells can hurt the little guys. CEDAR, for example, will cause bacteria infections in the nasal passages of mice, which leads them to die. Did you know that it's merely a myth that mice like cheese? In fact, they don't care for it much at all, they are lulured by the potent smell of it!

The only reason they were there in the first place is because of the dog food. Mice will go wherever there's food and shelter. It's highly unlikely that the little guys are still there if you no longer have a food source for them.

Every year, unless we had a cat, we had 7 mice, mama, pappa & babies. This fall we had a mouse caught in our microwave fan & it cost us $120 to get in out. Three weeks later we caught a mouse in the basement with a mouse trap (just in case). Now we notice mice eating our flour & not eating the cheese on the trap. Do, do on the kitchen counters. I want to adopt another cat so he can scare them away & be my pet too. I'm afraid to go to the basement. My husband said no. What do you think? Sorry about your sick mouse. Yeah, mice can get sick from air-born germs from people or otherwise. As long as you didn't have the little guy living in a house with cedar chips in it, he-she probably died of a cold. Wasn't he-she sneezing or coughing?

We bought a male friend to accompany the single male and he seems to fight harshly with the new male. I put their cage outside of eyesight from any of the females for fear of competition. Is this just an initiation or permanent????

Male mice are very territorial and will fight. If they were not raised together from when they were very young it is best if you keep them in separate cages. Hope this helps.

No, white mice are not necessarily albino. In order to be considered to be albino, they need to lack in pigment. The most distinguishing characteristic of an albin mouse is to have white fur with bright pink-red eyes. Also, if a mouse is albino, they are HIGHLY more sensitive to bright light. In fact, if there is a constant bright light or lamp near the mouse, you can damage its eyesight permanently.

BEFORE YOUR CLASS GETS A PET MOUSE, YOU MUCST KNOW A FEW THINGS FIRST@!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mice do not like being alone. In fact there is several cases where, if a mouse is caged alone, he-she will starve itself and die from depression!!! Make sure you get at least 2 mice to reside together, and make sure they are both FEMALE ( or you'll have many more mice than you bargained for) If the mice are going to be left alone for more than a day or so , make sure that there is PLENTY of toys and things to do for them. I wouldn't recommend them being left alone for that long because their food needs to be changed ONCE A DAY as well as their water!!They are lots and lots of fun to have as pets, and very personable, but they require lots of love and maintenance in order to be happy!

That's an easy one! Wild mice can survive on just about anything. They live in shrubbery or holes in walls to keep warm, while they collect twigs, newspapers, and anything else they can find around to make their nests with. They eat out of the garbage in the fields and streets of your city. They don't bother anyone unless you have them in your house. Also, when a female mouse becomes pregnant, she doesn't necessarily require a specific diet. If for some reason the mommy becomes injured or killed, another female will take over and begin nursing the babies. It's actually pretty remarkable the way mice tend to travel and live together, while taking care of each other.

A female mouse a CAN AND WILL have as many litters as you let her. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT HEALTHY FOR HER TO HAVE MORE THAN 2-3 IN HER LIFETIME!! She becomes more and more weak with every litter and pregnancy she has. Her immune system becomes weaker and more suseptable to disease and sickness.

The best and only type of mouse to keep as a pet is one that you find in a pet store. You never, never want to risk rescuing a mouse from a cat's mouth and trying to keep it as your pet, or finding one outside for that matter. They carry diseases in the wild. Other than that , any mouse makes a WONDERFUL pet. Just be careful that you put two females together, instead of two males' unless you want LOTS AND LOTS of babies.

A good baby mouse name??? That's a good one. I name all mine by their behaviors and personalities! I have one I named 'snickers' because she makes this little snickering noise all the time, and another one I named 'derby' because he's brown. Whatever name you give him-her will be the perfect name I'm sure!

There are many safe, alternative ways to get rid of unwanted mice. I applaud you for taking this unharming route of getting rid of the little critters. Go to your local hardware store(some drug stores may also carry similiar products). Choose from several mouse-friendly traps. They are baits which are similiar to the ones your humane society uses. Once they've been caught in the boxes, simply take them outside, away from your home and release them. Make sure that the outside of your house is free of any openings or holes that small animals can crawl into. A mouse can have anywhere from 2-22 babies in one single litter!!! So I suggest to take these precautions soon, considering it's spring. Good Luck!

My question is this my friend and I are doing a research paper. For this research paper we are conducting a harmless experiment on mice to see if keeping two together makes them more intelligent. Does anyone know of any other ways we could test our theory besides making a maze? We're planning on doing this but we would like to test in a different way too. Please email me at Lminda1@aol.com if you can help us. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I recently bought two fancy mice...a male and a female. The female spends most of her time trying to escape the 18inch tall glass aquarium. It's amazing. We ended up putting a screen on top, and now she crawls upside down on the screen! The male sits quietly and pays no attention. Is this normal? I feel like we've found mighty mouse or something. The mouse also took the bedding from inside the house we got and put it underneath it so that when the mouse fell, it would land on the bedding. We were in shock.

Hi I just wanted to tell you that your website is awesome. What happened to me was: We were getting hay from new York and it came in this huge truck. After everything was unloaded, my mom saw this baby mouse and we kept it because it's about 6 weeks old and if we let it go it would die, no doubt about it. All I had to basically know was what it ate and I just clicked on your site and BOOM there it was! I just want to thank you tremendously

Please help. My cat caught a mouse in the house. I live in Illinois. It is about 2 inches long and has tail that is one inch long. Is it a baby?? I don't see any puncture marks on it but it is having a hard time breathing and is uncoordinated. I feel aweful. Can I help it? What can I do? Should I release it where I've seen other mice outside? Please email me. Thank you. alisagiroux@worldnet.att.net

I have discovered, trapped and let go three mice in my home. The mice just appeared (discovered by their droppings. The tree mice: one was 1 1/2" body length, one was about 1" body length. and one was 1 1/4" body length. The 1 1/2" and 1" were grey coat with large eyes and long tails. The 1 1/4" was a much lighter grey almost a dirty white. Question is this a family, and if so how many more can I expect to find. I live in a split level, with no visible entry into my home. I have been living in the house for 18 years and these have been the first visitors of this type. sabrown@bestweb.net

My name is Andrew. I am a fan of both pet and wild mice. Now, my dad told me today, knowing that I love mice, that he has a mouse up at his motorcycle shop in the kitchen. He saw it Last friday, running across the counter. He has had mice up there for years, and I have always come up there but i never see them except for their mouse poo. I was just wondering if you could explain to me how my dad can see the mice, but I can't even if I wait patiently for them to come out.

If you find any baby mice you can mix a can of evaporated milk, equal amount of whole milk, and 2 eggs and feed them with an eye droper or syringe (without needle) about evary 2 hrs. keep in a warm place so they don't get cold. I found 7 baby mice in my storage room and am raising them. We fiund abandond kittens and the vet told us to feed this to them so we tried it on the baby mice it seems to work. Help me please !!! Our mother mouse just died and her babies will only be 1 week old tomorrow (9-17-00) is there anything I can do to save them?

I have no idea why the mother died, she seemed ok. At 10pm tonight she was in her exercise wheel but she was just laying in it not running around and then at 12pm I found her next to the wheel dead (her body was still warm so I know she must have just died) any ideas on why she may have died?

If you want to tame a mouse, try this: take all of the food out of the cage. pile some healthy small treats on your hand ( crush some cheerios). place the hand inside the cage. Wait. Wait some more. Keep waiting. if he's really hungry, he will come. When the mouse comes, make a clicking noise. make this same noise when you offer him treats, he will then know that the noise meas treats. It might take awhile, though. Good luck lyhyt

We recently have had a problem with mice in our house. My concern is that we have found mouse droppings in some of the storage containers that our childrens toys are in. We washed those toys, but should I wash all of the toys in the house? I am uneducated when it comes to the dangers the mice would pose to our children with their droppings or even them urinating on the toys, especially the stuffed animals. Can you help with this???

Ok, I got two mice from the pet store. The were the white mice that they sell to feed to snakes, I wantd to rescue them. I ended up with a boy and a girl, Daisy and Chester. Well, a couple weeks later Daisy died, so I got Chester a new feeder-mouse girlfriend, Cherry. Well, then I decided that the whole thing should get more complicated, so I went and got a nice little fancy-mouse, Dollie. Ok, so Chester, Cherry, and Dollie have been living together for a few months now. No babies. I'm positive that Chester is a boy, I'm alos positive that Cherry and Dollie are girls. So, what's up, why no babies? Anyway, Chester died this morning, so now it's just the girls all alone. Maybe he was sterile? Does that happen to mice? I was also wondering if the girls are going to get lonely now with out Chester, or will they be ok by themselves? Let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks!

The reason the older mouse was chasing the younger mouse around and biting his tail is NOT because he's "horny" as someone else implied. It's because you brought a brand new mouse into the older one's home, and the older one is angry, and establishing his dominance. You need to separate them IMMEDIATELY, or the older one will likely kill the younger--or hurt him a lot. Then, you need to get a new cage or tank and put them both in there. If they still fight, they need to be separated, or the younger may end up getting seriously hurt.

In response to the Dollie/Cherry/Chester question: Feeder mice do not have a very long life span. It may just be that Chester wasn't interested in mating, or it may be that Chester was really a girl. In any case, as long as Dollie & Cherry get along, they'll be fine together. It's not necessary for them to breed to be happy. :)

No, but we turned around and sure enough it was a white mouse with pink eyes, it ran right into his hands. We think it is a domestic mouse and no diseases that would hurt humans. Hi, I love your site! Its really creative. :) Well, I have a very important question. A little over a month ago, my 3 female mice had a LOT of babies- which was accidental. I decided to keep all of them, considering I committed to whatever would happen with my mice when I bought them. Right this very minuite I am separating my male and female mice. I am having a really hard time. They wont let me pick them up, and even though I have looked at the mouse genitils. (did I spell that right?) Anyhow, I am really frustrated because I cannot tell which is which considering them being so young. I need to do my homework and eat dinner, and this must be done tonight. Thanks for reading all this and please please help me if you can! Even an encouraging word would work wonders! Caroline, 13

I believe the male mouse is smarter because I did an experiment on a male and a female mouse. I ran them both through a maze and the male made it faster than the female. When I put cheese at the end he did it fastest, and when I had no cheese he finished the maze and the female didn't bother to.-Jennifer

Is there such a thing as a pack mouse? I've had some strange things happen at my house where dog food has been place in various locations.(under cushions, in shoes, coats, laundry baskets) And some of these locations are up higher than i thought a mouse could get. What color are these mice, are they brown and white?

Help please!!! I have a mouse I bought in November and now it is February. I noticed this morning that there were drops of blood on the inside of his cage and I don't know what to do. I think it is his ear but I'm not sure. He is the kind of mouse that won't let you pick him up ever sense he was a baby. I can't really get a good look at where he is bleeding. I heard somewhere that if they itched around their ears and bleed it could be skin mights or something. Is that true?? Well I am in a bit of a hole (not knowing what to do) I would be very greatful if you e-mail me some possible answers ASAP!! My Address is: crackpot_oncrack@hotmail.com Thanx and please hurry!!

A lot of you seem to have questions about mice. Maybe this will help. I found 4 wild mice babies with eyes barely open in my house and raised them. They eat horse oats and dry corn and crackers and carrot and lettuce and apple and peanuts. I didn't handle them every day. If I had they would not be afraid of me now. After 8 weeks, one gave birth to two babies of her own. She was herself probably only 10 weeks old. I believe they must be about 7 weeks old to tell which sex is which. By holding the tail up over the back, a male, if he is relaxed and not scared will let his two testicles below his tail bulge outward. You can sometimes see this when they are climbing up a tree branch in their cage which they love to chew on. They can bite through rubber gloves when I pick them up. There are humane traps (search the internet for humane traps) for catching them and letting them go in woodlands and away from homes where they can continue to keep the balance in nature of which they are a part instead of killing with poisons which can be harmful to us and to other animals. They make amazing and entertaining pets and have given us many laughs when they play in their big roomy glass cages. They would make excellent classroom pets in schools and be educational. Laura

I am living in a single dwelling home. I knew we had mice but did not know to what extent. I am now moving and to my surprise have found more mouse droppings then could be imagined. My question is; Are mice carriers of any diseases? I am being told that mice carry many diseases and people have died. I have two teenage daughers and I am very concerned. Both my girls have experienced cronic coughs, tightening in the chest. Our physician has placed both girls on inhalors. I would appreciate any information you can give me. Thank you.

: HOW TO TURN $30 INTO $50,000!! OR MUCH MORE!! : : : READING THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE! : : : I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it. A little : : : while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, just like you are : now, : : : and came across an article similar to this that said you could make : : : thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of : : : $30.00! So I thought, "Yeah right, this must be a scam", but : : : like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said : : : that you send $5.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the : : : article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of : : : the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. : : : (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it : : : over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. : : : : I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $30.00, : : : right?" Then I invested the measly $30.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!... : : : within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I : : : figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my : : : first week, I made about $180.00. By the end of the second week I had : : : made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over : : : $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I : : : have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in : : : rapidly. It's certainly worth $30.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more : : : than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most : : : importantly, why it works....Also, make sure you print a copy of : this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need : it. : : : I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you : : : will start making more money than you thought possible by doing : : : something so easy! : : : Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully! (print it out or : : : download it.) Follow the simple directions and watch the money come : : : in! : : : It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $30.00 (Plus : : : postage) : : : IMPORTANT: This is not a rip-off; it is not indecent; it is not : : : illegal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!!!! : : : If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will : receive : : : extraordinary dividends. : : PLEASE NOTE: : : : Please follow these directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more can be : : : yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of : : : the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue its : : : success by carefully adhering to the instructions. : : : You will now become part of the Mail Order business. In this : business : : : your product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in : : : the business of developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations : are : : : happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. However, the money made : : : from the mailing lists is secondary to the income which is made from : : : people like you and me asking to be included in that list. : : : Here are the 4 easy steps to success: : : : STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on : : : each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now : : : get 6 US $5.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of : : : paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope (to prevent : : : thievery). Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal : : : them, MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE ENOUGH STAMPS ON YOUR ENVELOPES. : : : You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of : : : paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $5.00 : : : bill. What you are doing is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY : : : LEGAL! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying : for : : : it! Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried : : : about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. : : : Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed : : : legal! Mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses: : : : : :#1)Troy Stanley : :1409 Belvedere Dr. : :Kokomo, IN 46902 : :USA : : :#2) Mauchmad Kadifi : :1158 Valley Bluff Rd. : : Perrysburg, OH 43551 USA : : #3) Mike Grider : :P.O. Box 27 : :Okemos, MI 48805 : : :#4) J.R. Nava: : 1312 S. Shelton St.: : Seattle, WA 98108 USA : : :#5) Jack Borkenhagen: : 3750 S. 160th: : Seattle, WA 98188 USA : : :#6) Zane Price: :3 Muir Rd: :Remuera: :Auckland:: New Zealand: :1003

: STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move : : : the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR : : : Name as number 6 on the list. : : : STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as : : : close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at : : : least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 24,000 groups) All : : : you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you : : : make! : : ** EVERYBODY AROUND THE WORLD CAN DO IT, BUT REMEMBER TO : PUT ENOUGH : : STAMPS ON YOUR EVELOPES!!!!** : : : This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18 : : : Sec. 1302 & 1341 of the Postal lottery laws. : : : Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need : money, : : : you can use it again, and again. : : : PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of the : : : honesty and integrity of the participants and by their carefully : : : adhering to the directions. Look at it this way. If you are of : : : integrity, the program will continue and the money that so many : : : others have received will come your way. : : : NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, : : : either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send : you. : : : This VERIFIES that you are truly providing a service. (Also, it : might be a good idea to wrap the $5 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk : : : of mail theft.) : : : So, as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully : followed, : : : six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a List : : : Developer with 5 dollars each. Your name will move up the list : : : geometrically so that when your name reaches the #1 position you : will : : : be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an opportunity for only $30.00 ($5.00 for each of the first six people listed above) : Send : : : it now, add your own name to the list and you're in business! : : : ---DIRECTIONS ----- FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS------------ : : : Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own : : : posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and : : : drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' : : : from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the : : : computer's memory. : : : Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your cursor at the top : : : of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will : : : paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your : name : : : to the list. : : Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. : If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to go back to. : : : Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for : : : various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, : : : discussions.) : : : Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new : : : message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste : : : from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header : that : : : everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a : : : particular group, click the post message button. You're done with : : : your first one! Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is : : : jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang : of : : : it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! : : : **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN (Massage-boards etc.) : : : THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200 : : : That's it! You will begin receiving : : : money from around the world within days! You may eventually want to : : : rent a P.O.Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If : : : you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as : : : the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE : : : CORRECT.** : : Now the WHY part: : : : Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low : : : example). So then I made $25.00 with my name at #6 on the letter. : Now, : : : each of the 5 persons who just sent me $5.00 make the MINIMUM 200 : : : postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each : : : of the original 5, that is another $125.00 for me, now those 25 each : : : make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I : : : will bring in an additional $3000.00! Now, those 125 persons turn : : : around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive : 5 : : : replies each, I will make an additional $3130.00! OK, now here is the : : : fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with : : : my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made : me : : : $15,625.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to : 200 : : : newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 : : : newsgroups react I will receive $78,125,00! With an original : : : investment of only $30.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on : the : : : list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send : : : out another $30.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number : 6 : : : again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you : : : realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the : : : internet and reading these articles everyday?, JUST LIKE YOU are : : : now!! So, can you afford $30.00 and see if it really works?? I think : : : so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no : : : one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that : : : happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest : : : people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are : : : willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new : : : users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual : : : internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will really : : : work. : : : Don't let this exciting opportunity pass you by!: : : : How to turn $30 into $50,000! Or more!!! Do it!!!

I purchased a soft drink today at a convenient store. The drink had a pull up top to drink from. The top was not completely covered by the plastic covering...leaving it exposed to everything. I did wipe the top off with a cloth, but I'm concerned that "stuff" from possibly mice may still have remained on the top of it. I am concerned because my children drank from it. What are the likelihood of diseases from such animals of mice being at the top of this drink?

I reviewed your bulletion board and I see this is a common question - with no answers written - please help. We found 2 baby field mice in our yard. They are very young - eyes are still shut. We are feeding them warmed milk and trying to keep them warm. Any suggestions? Food, care instructions, etc. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated. We were very surprised to see them alive this morning - is it possible to raise them as pets? burn.family@sympatico.ca
