Mice in the Lab |
Today mice are being used to help us find cures for diseases people once thought incurable. In leprosy scientists could not cultivate leprosy in test tubes, however, they could cultivate it on mouse feet. They could not cultivate enough though, so they had to switch to armadillos. They have also injected mice with brain tissue from cows with mad cow disease to help find a cure. They are also using mice for research on diabetes, genes, cancer, Alzheimers, and hemophilia.
