Florida Tornadoes
During the first strong tornadoes of the year, three tornadoes hit Florida around midinght on Febuary 22, 1998. There were about forty-two deaths and nearly 260 injured. President Clinton checked the damage and declared fourteen countries eligible for Federal disaster relief. This was the most deadly tornado outbreak in the history of Florida tornadoes.
