Wetlands World Wide
There are many wetlands world wide and some may even be near you. Usually there are wetland preserves near a wetland. We preserve them to keep them because they are filled with amazing animals and there are only so many wetlands. Wetlands are a breeding ground for tiny creatures that are at the start of the food chain for marine animals. They are where mangroves live and where life starts in many ecosystems.
OOOOPs! We used a word you may not know. There is a school in Washington state that has a great wetland glossary. You can go to it at:
Wetland Glossary You will learn a lot there, but click BACK to return to our page!!!!!
Although there are few wetlands, people still want to build their homes on that land. In a couple of years I fear that there may be less wetlands and animals. I also fear that soon there will also be a lot less rainforest. If you help to preserve them like we do then you will be a big help whether you save the wetland or rainforest because at least you tried.

I want you to fill out a form and tell us if you live near a wetland. If you want ideas about how you can help or if you want to tell us how you already help the environment. To Our Form
The same school we mentioned before has a great Wetland Site. You can go to it at Wetlands, but don't forget to click BACK when you are done to get back to our site and more learning fun.
The SWS has many great wetland websites from all over the world. To get there:
There is a High School section toward the top of this site. The many professional organizations will be happy to help with research and e-mail to you. The Wildlife Society and the Estuarine Research link are both good for wetland research. The US Fish and Wildlife Service has many links. If you go to that site we suggested, please be sure to click BACK and return to our site.
