Gymnastics

Gymnastics started in the 2nd B.C. The first people who performed were acrobats that performed in Ancient Egypt. Gymnastics was started by men and women in Crete during the time of Minoan. The sport was developed from bull leaping. During bull leaping, the performer would run toward the charging bull and grab its horns. Then while getting on the bulls back, the performer would be tossed in the air and perform various midair stunts. Next, the performer would land on the bulls back and end with a flip for the dismount.
