IN THE PICTURE ABOVE WE HAVE TRIED TO POINT OUT THE IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE HORSE

 

 

Mane - The mane is hair that grows from the top of the horses neck.

Muzzle - The muzzle is the tip of the horses nose.

Forehead - The forehead is the part of the face above the eyes.

Tail - The tail is long pretty hair that grows at the end of the horses body.

Blaze - A blaze is the white mark on the end of the face.

Hoof - The hard toe that protects the horses sole.

Nostril - A nasal passage.

Legs - A part of the horses body that helps the horse move around.

Pole - The pole is the very top of the horses head.

Neck - The neck is what allows the horse to eat grass and other things that are on the ground.

Chest - The chest is the front of the horses body where important organs are stored.

Pastern - The pastern is like an ankle for the horse.

Chestnuts -The Chestnuts are a dried hard skin that protects that part of the horses leg.

Barrel - The stomach is the another name for it and that's where the food is stored.

Withers - The withers is where the saddle horn is placed when you ride.

Back - If you were to ride without a saddle you would be sitting on the horse back. A horses back has to be very strong so it can hold people on it.
