Skiing in Vermont

Did somebody say skiing? Vermont has some of the best skiing whether you like downhill, crosscountry or telemarking. For those of you who ski downhill or telemark there are a lot of skiing resorts like Killington, Okemo, Attatash. By the way, for you telemarkers, did you know that telemarking was named after a Norwegian county. And for you crosscountry skiers, you can go just about anywhere here. There's even a place for you racers, too. If you look hard you'll find a ski race about every week. But the sad thing is that there are no major ski races. But even though there are no big races, any ski resort in Vermont is a blast! If you've never skied before, it's like going down a water slide upright, with skis attached to your feet. Plus instead of going over water you're going over snow. If you've never skied before the people who run the ski resort mark the trails with shapes and colors. The easiest trails are called green circles. Harder trails are called blue circles. The hardest trails are called black diamonds. And there are double black diamonds and triple black diamonds and so on. Skiing ROCKS! And every ski resort has a lodge you can go into if you get cold, hungry, tired, or hot.

This is Pico Peak.
