The title of the book I read was Fury and the Mustangs and it was written by Albert G. Miller. Jim, Joey and Pete lived on the Broken Wheel Ranch and when Jim was gone the horses were stolen which made Joey, the child of the ranch, very unhappy because Fury, Joey's favorite mustang and friend, was stolen as well. While Joey was trying to rescue Fury, he was kidnapped and locked in a shed, but the next day fury opened the lock and freed him so he could arrest Matt Castle and the crooks he was leading. A little bit later some bad money was found in the town in the general store and all the people in the town had heard of a big robbery up in Montana and they were sure that this was some of the money from the robbery. Red Baker, who is actually Mike Driscoll of the FBI, came to the town and stayed at the Broken Wheel Ranch because he was looking for the robber from Montana named Harry Kislake. A while later, a fire started in the woods and burned down the ranch of Mr. Barstow, a neighbor of Joey, and while inside trying to put it out, Mike Driscoll found Harry Kislake disguised as Chick Lacy, working for Mr. Barstow, and Fury, Joey's mustang, helped with the arrest. Later, Mr. Barstow held a big barbecue on his charred property and apologized for killing mustangs, which had formed a grudge between him and the mustang-loving Broken Wheel Ranch members, so they all live happily ever after(except Harry Kislake and the kidnappers). I really enjoyed reading this book. One of the reasons was because it had great description. One example of the description was when the author explained how Joey felt when Jim and Red wouldnít tell Joey that Red worked for the FBI when Joey wanted to know the secret that Jim and Red were keeping from him. Joey felt betrayed because he wasnít in on the secret. I also liked how realistic the book was. For example, when Red Baker came to the town, nobody even suspected that he was a FBI agent. In some books everybody would know if a FBI agent came to a small town, but this was more believable than those. I really liked the exciting and surprising arrest. Before the arrest I had no clue that Red was actually a FBI agent. When he burst out with a gun in a flaming, smoking shed it was really exciting and descriptive. I also enjoyed the kidnapping but it wasnít as descriptive or dangerous. I like books with happy endings. This book had a happy ending because Mr. Barstow held a big barbecue and apologized for killing the horses. They all lived happily ever after.
