Wolves, Mountain Loins and Bears wondered through the deep, scary woods a lot in the late 1860's. Except Pa preferred to live near a neighborhood instead in the middle of the woods. Pa had built a snug cabin for the family. The story tells the life of a thirteen year old girl who lives with her Ma and Pa she also lives with her older sister Mary and her baby sister Carrie. Laura was born in the cabin near town. Her and her family had been traveling for many years the family was traveling by covered wagon for many years. There was always fun time with laughter.
I loved this book because the author made seem like we were really there. She used great words and good similes. My favorite simile was "it was as cold as a snow ball on a chilly blizzard day. I would have to rate this book a definite 10. I would recommend this book to any person. It was very enjoyable and hard to put away.
