This is a fantastic story with the main character - a human amfibian, Ikhtiander by name. Once upon a time fishermen of a little Spanish town happened to observe something strange in the a bay. They told their wives and children terrible stories that they saw in the sea an ugly creature with big hands and legs and bulging eyes like a frog's. The interesting action began when this human- amfibian saved a young and pretty woman when she fell from the deck of a ship. As the girl was unconscious, she did not know who had really rescued her, and
a rich young man said that he had done it, as he loved the girl. But most
of all he loved money and he decided to catch the human-amfibian so that the latter would pick pearls for him. What do you think, will the end be happy? You will know by yourself reading the book.
