Can you imagine a girl with almost too big of an imagination, talks too much and reads too much? Anne of Green Gables is about a girl named Anne Shirley who has never been loved before in her life. She has lived in an orphanage for most of her life but was adopted a couple times to take care of young children and to help out with some work around the house. However Anne always got sent back to the orphanage. Then one day she finds out that someone wants to adopt her from Green Gables, a beautiful place where wealthy people live. They don't want to adopt her because they need help with their children, they just want to have a child.

The next morning Anne waits for Matthew Cuthbert (one of the people that was going to adopt her) outside. When Matthew comes Anne finds out that he is shy and very sweet. Anne is very talkative and has a huge imagination and she talked the whole way to Green Gables. When they got to Green Gables, Marilla (the other person who was going to adopt her and Matthew's sister) was surprised that a little girl was at the house because Matthew was supposed to pick-up a boy. Matthew was too shy to tell Anne that when he met her he knew that he was supposed to pick-up the boy, but he liked her too much. The only reason why Matthew and Marilla were going to adopt a boy is because Matthew's heart bothered him greatly and he needed someone to help out with the farming. Marilla didn't even want to adopt someone. She was just doing it for Matthewąs sake. That night, Anne was so upset that she couldnąt eat dinner.

The next day, Marilla was in the carriage taking Anne back to the orphanage until she saw Mrs. Bluote who was looking for a little girl to help out with the chores and with her own children. Mrs. Bluote was a very severe woman and very strict, too. Marilla said that she was going to take Anne back to Green Gables to talk over with Matthew whether Anne was going to stay at Green Gables or not. To find out the answer you'll have to read the book!

This is my favorite book I have ever read! It is very interesting and I always wanted to read more of it. This book was funny in parts and always enjoyable.
