In this fantastic tale, Agatha Christie weaves a devilish murder mystery through the minds of all readers.

The story takes place on Indian Island. Ten people are invited to the island by the mysterious U. N. Owen. All of the guests are confused because U. N Owen has not showed themselves yet.

As the guests sit down to dine they notice ten Little Indian boys on the mantelpiece. That reminds them that in each of their rooms above each of their beds the same poem begins.

Ten little Indian boys went out to dine;
One choked his little self and then there were nine.
Nine little Indian boys sat up very late;
One overslept itself and then there were eight.
Eight little Indian Boys traveling in Devon ... (pg. 22)

The guests don't know it then but the poem will determine their futures.

As they sit down after dinner is through, Anthony Martson takes a swipe of his drink and falls cold on the floor. The guests are astonished but think it was only an accident. The book continues and the guests begin to disappear. As each one dies, one Little Indian boy disappears from the mantlepiece with them. It is just like the poem they realize later and they know how the next one of them will die.

This book was written so well that in the end when you find out who has done it you are very surprised. This book is one that you can't put down until you are finished. I was so involved with the book that it was as if I was having this happen to me!. I suggest that any one who wants to read good literature should read this book.
