If you like strange mysteries then you will love the book, The Seance. It is an excifing book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The main character is Lauren, who lives with her Aunt Mel and her adopted sister Sara. Sara is the kind of girl that runs around with boys and doesn't concentrate on her homework. Lauren is the kind of girl who doesn't run around with boys and doesn't really work hard on her homework. This book is set in a quiet country town in Texas and the people there are not used to the kind of people from California which is where Sara is from.

Greg Hughes is another large character in this book. He is a smart, athiefic child who has been offered many scholarships to colleges. He lives with his grandmother Mrs. Hughes. Lauren goes and talks to Mrs. Hughs somefimes so she can see Greg. (Lauren has a secret crush on Greg.)

Roberta is a friend to no one and is how the mischief all got started. See Roberta is the one that could talk to the dead. She tells Sara about it to become as popular as she. Then Sara tells Lauren and all of her friends , including Allie, Maddie, Luemma, and Dana. Then Sara is the one that wants to see Roberta do her thing with the dead, so Sara sets the date for eight o'clock on Friday night.

When the night arrives everyone is there and every one is scared, besides the two, Sara and Roberta. Roberta then turns out all of the lights and then lights a candle. She starts to begin the ritual. All of the lights are out and the doors are locked. Then all of the sudden Sara starts to scream and the candle is blown out. When the lights are turned on Sara has disappeared!
