Read along with Frodo, Merry, Pippen, and Sam as They Journey into Darkness
The book starts out with Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who has been on his share of adventures and is now living in his quiet little hobbit hole in the Shire. In case your wondering, a hobbit is smaller than a dwarf, yet slightly larger than a child. One day Bilbošs old friend Gandaff the Wizard shows up and asks about a magic ring Bilbo had found on one of his adventures. It turns out this ring is not as innocent as it looks. A long time ago, Souron the evil wizard forged this ring himself and it holds powers so great it can corrupt even the most faithful of men. Gandaff tells him that dark forces are brewing again and Souron is sending his dark servants searching for the ring. Since Bilbo is to old to travel and is endangering his home he must give the ring to his air, Frodo his nephew. At Billbošs one-hundredth birthday he mysteriously dissapers. He leaves the ring in an envelope for Frodo and leaves for Rivendale. Now the responsibility is on Frodošs shoulders. He must never where the ring, and must never hand it over to the dark forces. Frodo and his three companions, Pippin, Merry, and Sam, must leave the Shire and must embark on the most perilous journey ever.
I have read many books and I'm pretty critical about them, so it means something when I say this book surpasses my highest standards by far. I strongly recommend this book to anyone willing to take the time to read it.
