Anne Of Green Gables is about Anne and her life in and out of orphanages. Anne has carrot red hair, a wild imagination and a sharp quick tongue that would not get tired. In Anne's life she struggles through many abusive owners and has been in many different orphanages through her teenage life. One of her aspirations is to have a beautiful complexion with golden brown hair, also to have a "bussem friend" (which is a best friend) and a loving home. When Anne is at an orphanage, she is fortunately picked (out of all the girls in the orphanage) to be adopted and live on Prince Edward Island with Marilla and Mathew Cutbert. It was one of Annešs happiest days of her life and Anne now finds hope in her future.
When she reaches Prince Edward Island, her mind and imagination takes flight as she sees new sights. There she also meets the wonderful, kind spirited Mathew Cutbert. On her way to Green Gables, (the home of the Cutberts) she encounters the Lake of Shining Waters, Jerry's pond, Light Way Delight a beautiful path of white flowers blooming everywhere and sees Green Gables. Anne is shocked at its beauty, size and knowing that soon that is going to be her first real home with love all around but she might of thought wrong.
The moment Anne walked in, Marila was in awe.
Anne found out that the Cutberts sent for a BOY and not a girl! Anne is now in suspense and wondering if she is to stay at Green Gables and maybe have a chance to make a bussom friend, or return to the orphanage where she will hope again to have a chance to live at another beautiful home again.
"Where was the boy? "
"'There wasn't any boy,' said Mathew wretchedly. 'There was only her."
I thought this is a wonderful, amazingly written book. L. M. Montgomery wrote an extraordinary book with distinctive characters. I recommend Anne of Green Gables. I love Anne of Green Gables because it has a humorous parts and also touching parts all through the story.
"You don't want me!' she cried. 'You don't want me because I'm not a boy! I might have expected it."
