How would you feel if you had drove over a kid last summer with three of your friends? What if somebody knew about it? In this book by Lois Duncan, four teenagers, Julie, Ray, Barry, and Helen, drove over a kid last summer named David Gregg who was riding his bike back from his friends house from a sleepover. The four teenagers were making a turn and David suddenly came out into the middle of the street and BANG! The car hit him. They kept on driving and pulled over at a phone booth. Ray called 911 and said. "There's been an accident on Mountain Road, south of Silver Springs. It's just above the junction with 301. We hit a kid on a bicycle." The voice on the other end asked who was calling. "My name is-" Ray began. (pg. 48). Then Barry hung up the phone.

A year later Julie received two letters in the mail. One said that she was admitted to Smith College, which was very exciting. The other was a letter that said in big black printing: I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. No names were mentioned and nothing else was said.

Julie then told the other three about the letter. They thought that it was just a prank and a coincidence, but then Helen gets a letter and Barry is shot in the stomach. They have to find out who the anonymous person is or else all of them could be murdered. They are trapped. Going to the police would be bad and if they didn't do anything they could be killed.

I think this book is very exciting and I suggest you read it. It's real surprising and is very descriptive. Once you start the book you won't want to put it down.
