This book is interesting because you get two points of veiw. One view is the Volnik childrens'; the other is the Boggart's.
One day the Volniks get a call saying "You have inherited Castle Keep from Devon McDevon," (pg.16). Volniks don't understand at first but then they find out that Maggie's,(the mother) great-great-grandfather lived in Castle Keep but now has died. They were the nearest realitives to him. The Volniks decided to visit Scotland where Castle Keep is located.
When they get there they know there is somthing weird about the castle but they don't know what. The Boggart is what is weird about the castle.
The Boggart feels much distress because he has lost a friend, who is Maggie's great great granfather. The Boggart stays sleeeping on the top shelf of the libary for many days sleeping. One day he is too tired to go all the way to the top shelf so he settles down to sleep in a desk.
Then the Volniks decide to take the desk home, with the Boggart in it. The Boggart finds himself in a strange new world. Can ancient magic survive in the new magic of the world?
