My Musher
Martin Buser
Martin Buser with his wife and sons lives in Big Lake Alaska. His
family owns and manages Happy Trails Kennel. He thinks of his dogs as
true competitive athletes and prides his team on their longevity and
spirt of competition. He was awarded the Leonhard Seppala Award in
1988, 1993,1995 and again in 1997. This is for the most humanitarian
care of his dogs. When Martin crossed the finsh line in first place
on March 10th ,1992, at 4:17 am, with the winning time of 10 days,
19hrs and 17min, he was the first musher to break the "mystical" 10
day barrier. He has competed in Europe's Alpirod. He has captured 2nd
place six times in the Copper Basin 300, and won many other races. He
currently holds the fastest time ever recorded in a 300 mile race at
the Kusko 300.
