Newton defined three laws of motion.Newton wrote his laws of motion in the third volume of the Principia, where he drew diagrams to show how his three rules apply to balls.

Law 1

Newton's Law 1

Object at rest

Every object stays at rest unless an outside force acts on it. If an object is in motion, it travels in a straight line unless an outside force acts on it.

Law 2

Newton's Law 2

Force

The outside force is related to the direction and the increase in speed of the object.

Law 3

Newton's Law 3

Opposite Reaction

To every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
