CPU 
 
    The CPU is known as the Central ProcessingUnit. The CPU is a single silicon chip. This chip is the heart ofthe PC and executes many functions, such as figuring any arithmetic andlogic operations from memory and other parts of thecomputer, and breaks them down into short, simple sums. Most CPUchips today are about the size of your fingernail.
