Raphael,the painter, was first named Raffaello Sanzio. His father was a court painter for the Duke of Urbino. In 1494 he went to study with Perugino in Perugia. He studied paintings of the man he admired, Leonardo Da Vinci, the great artist of Italy. Da Vinci was the one who inspired Raphael. In late 1508, Pope Julius II asked Raphael a favor. He asked him to work for him in Rome. Julius wanted him to rebuild and decorate Rome to show off it's history,beauty and, glory. He gathered together Italian architects,painters and,sculptors. In his early career of artistry his masterpiece was The Marriage of the Virgin in 1504.

Today, Raphael is known as a Ninja Turtle. Raphael the Turtle is the one in the group with the short temper. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. His favorite color is red for alot of nonsense reasons. He likes fighting, hockey,baseball and golf. The rest of the group calls him Raph and Psycho. Rap,metal and "grunge" are his favorite types of music. He likes to eat cereal and read Jurassic Park. His favorite weapon is Sai. He is very anti-social. He envys Michaelangelo because he is good natured and rarely gets angry.
