Barracuda are predacious fish in the family of sphyraenidae, that inhabit temperate and tropical waters all over the world.Their bodies are long formed, they have razor-sharp sets of fangs, and their jaw juts out big time! The most common species along the western Atlantic coast is the great barracuda, or, the sphyaena barracuda. The great barracuda may grow to more than 10 feet in length. The larger barracudas live deeper into the coral reefs, where they feast on fish. Barracudas can be very dangerous to humans when provoked. They are attracted to erratic movement and bright colors.
