Sea Plants

Hello! Welcome! Here you will learn about sea plants. I hope you find this part interesting.

Sea weed: The most common shore plants are seaweeds. There are many types of these ranging from small to large. Seaweeds get their food from sea water and only fix themselves to rocks or any other hard substances so they can withstand the harsh tides. They also need sunlight and grow better in shallow waters.

Seaweeds come in three different color groups- green, brown, and red . The green ones grow close to shore, the reds grow deeper down, and the brown ones grow in between tides. Sometimes the red seaweed grows in with the brown seaweed, but rarely. Each color suits the depth the seaweed lives in.

Besides seaweeds, other types of plants are there too. Some plants grow in sand dunes. Some also grow in salt marsh areas--places where a river meets a sea. Other plants thrive in mud and sand. They grow in different sizes, too, some as small as germs on your hand, and some as big as your body.
