Coral reef- a wave resistant underwater ridge or mound made of fragments of coral , coral sands, and solid limestone at or slightly below sea level.
There are 3 kinds of coral reefs,
fringing reefs-close to the shore
barrier reefs-separated from land by lagoons
atoll reefs-far offshore
